Good Day World,
July is packed. We’re welcoming back Elsa to the SJD World team, she first interned with us back in 2023, and we’re glad to have her back. This month we’re also spotlighting a brand-new website build, a fresh voice over from Stephan, and one-of-a-kind prints from Ras Mykkal. And we couldn’t let this issue go by without celebrating Twenty Two Tulips one year anniversary and Thoughts Become Things, three years in and one year on YouTube. A lot has happened. Let’s get into it.

Welcoming Elsa Stevenson
Elsa graduated from Toronto’s OCAD University in 2025 with a Bachelor’s of Design (Honours) in Illustration. Throughout her studies and professional experience, she has worked with multidisciplinary teams across web development, storyboarding, print production, and creative design. Her experience includes developing graphic icons and illustrations for a medical laboratory, combining visual design with scientific communication. She is also a co-founder of a small independent press, helping organize and produce a collaborative hand-bound, 70-page risograph-printed book that celebrates and showcases artists within the Toronto community.
In her role at SJD World, she applies her design background to supporting SJD’s website clients, assisting in the maintenance and development of websites as well as creative and illustration support. She values a collaborative environment and is passionate about continuously expanding her technical and creative skills while growing within her role at SJD World.

BZS x BAMZ Website
We’re excited to share our latest web design project, bzs.bm. The goal for this build was to create a clean, welcoming, and visually rich experience that reflects the beauty and wonder of what the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo has to offer visitors.
Accessibility was a top priority ensuring the site is easy to navigate for everyone. We brought the design to life with smooth page animations and thoughtful visual details that give the site a modern, polished feel. Click below to explore it for yourself.

Voice Over Feature
Alongside the new website launch, Stephan lent his voice to the Bermuda Aquarium’s 100 Year Campaign, a milestone celebrating a century of conservation, education, and connection to Bermuda’s natural world. It was a privilege to be part of a project with that kind of history behind it, and the final result speaks for itself.
From everyone at SJD World, a huge congratulations to the entire BAMZ team on reaching 100 years. Here’s to the next century.

Celebrating One Year of Twenty Two Tulips
One year since the vision Anna had formed from a picture in her head to a domain name that we purchased.
One year since Stephan said – Okay, let’s do it.
One year of testing fabrics, designs, and about 20 different variations of a dinosaur that can be embroidered. (We are still working on this!)
Although it may not feel like one year to most people, for us, it’s been one year since we gave the green light to take a risk on an idea that we’ve been dreaming about for over a decade. This dream has taken the form of different names, concepts, put on the back burner and paused, only to emerge in the shape of a tulip.
While we still have more big risks and even bigger ideas in our back pocket – Twenty Two Tulips has grown quickly. A year from purchasing the domain twentytwotulips.com – we are proud to see our products selling to not only family and friends – but strangers too! According to Anna – this means we’ve made it! You can go to Cassine on Reid Street and find some of our best selling CupMatch items for sale in person! Also according to Anna – this means we’ve doubly made it!
Thank you everyone for supporting our vision from the very first seed.

The 3 Year Journey Continues
Three years ago, Thoughts Become Things began as a poem, evolved into a short film, a 12-track original soundtrack, and a companion mini-documentary. The short film has been selected by 22 international film festivals across 11 countries and won 13 awards including two Webby Award recognitions and two Telly Awards. This July marks one year since the film was released free on YouTube, where it has gained over 34,000 views. Nearly 80% of every dollar spent on the project went directly back into the Bermudian community, supporting Gombey troupes, local artists, cultural organisations, and local businesses.
The journey is not over. A music video is currently in production, made possible with the generous support of the Bermuda Arts Council, and will serve as the fourth visual installment of the project. A coffee table book chronicling the complete journey from poem to global stage is also planned for 2028. We are still actively seeking new sponsors to join us on this journey as we continue to bring Bermudian culture to the world and honor our ancestors.
