More than ten creative businesses are joining forces with the Chewstick Foundation during tomorrow’s ‘happy hour’ for an evening of music and fundraising.
The businesses housed in the Somers Building on Front Street will be hosting an open house to raise awareness of their services and while raising funds for Chewstick which suffered badly as a result of the fire in June.
Among the artists performing from 5pm to 7pm are Joy T Barnum, Mike Hind, Raven, Ishta, Savanna D and De Onion Patch Crew, Christopher Darrell and Cal Worrell. There will also be a bake sale by Dangelini’s Cafe and friends.
Stephan Johnsone, creative director at SJDworld, located at the Somers Building, said: “From film, marketing and graphic design, to printing and clothing, the Somers Building is the home to some of the most creative companies in Bermuda.
“The Somers Building Open House/Chewstick Fundraiser is a collaboration between the business in the building and The Chewstick Foundation. The purpose of this event is to help raise funds but to also bring more awareness not only to the business in the building but to the importance and power of The Chewstick Foundation.”
The businesses participating in the event include the Bermuda Film Festival, Bermuda BREAM, Burnt House Productions, colourlab Bermuda, Coral Coast Clothing, Earth Fare Market, Groundswell, Intelisign Ltd, Into Bermuda, Precision LMT, SJDworld, Uber Super Duper and Urban Cottage.
The Somers Building, 15 Front Street, is next to Muse, across the street from the old HSBC at Albuoy’s Point.
